So what are your reading nook must-haves?
The most important thing for your super cozy, comfy reading nook: A really nice chair. I have a chair just like the one pictured above, and it is honestly like sitting in a hug. It’s so incredibly comfortable and cozy, I never want to get out of it.
You can spin and change the angel of the top part, so you can make it more like a bowl to curl up in, or sit it more upright like a real chair. Also for my fellow womb-people, this is amazing for that time of the month. I can’t count how many times I’ve curled up in this chair with a good book, and it really does relieve some of the pain that way.
Other options I would definitely consider for my reading nook are:
I mean, is it even a proper reading nook without a place to store your books? I don’t think so. While I do read most books on my ipad, I keep my favorite books (harry potter, anyone?) on paper as well. It adds something to the experience, and I have a special selection of paper books to bring to the beach or read in the sun.
I love these floating bookshelves as they look really cool. Theyre perfect if ou have a small space, no floorspace for a bookshelf, or if you don’t have a lot of books.
But, if you do have a lot of books and want to create your own private library in you reading corner, consider these options, the last one is almost like you’re in your own bookstore!
Whether you read in the mornings, afternoon, evening or just all day every day, lighting is of the essence. How else can you see those pages?
So how about the prettiest fairy light curtain? I have one above my bed, and it’s so worth it. They are so beautiful, give off more light than you’d expect, and add so much coziness to your reading nook. The ones linked in the image even come with a remote control, so you can adjust the setting from your super comfy chair!
If a fairy light curtain is just not your thing, maybe one of these is:
It’s easy to get cold when you’re sitting still reading, so a blanket is no unnessecary luxury to add to your reading corner. Can you already imagine yourself curled up in your comfy chair, with your favorite book in your hands, under a blanket (your body, not the book)? Maybe it’s because it’s winter where I am, but it sounds like an absolute dream to me.
BRB, I’m taking a completely unrelated writing break.
In the meantime, look at these blankets.. Aren’t they the fluffiest thing you’ve seen? I will admit the blanket/sweatshirt combination might not be very elegant, but I can guarantee you won’t get cold again.
I don’t mean the alcoholic kind, although if that floats your boat, don’t let me stop you!
I was thinking more off the tea/coffee/hot chocolate kind. No matter the season, I’m never far removed from a cup of tea, so a cute mug is of the essence. Fortunately, with all the mugs we have to choose from nowadays, there are so many fun book related mugs to choose from!
Now if you are lucky enough to live in a warm climate year round, check out the cute tumbler I found!
